The game is set within the world of a fantasy-themed tabletop role-playing game. The game can be played solo or with up to three other players in online or local split-screen multiplayer. Similar to its predecessors, the game is a first-person shooter with elements of an action role-playing game. As spin-offs go, it sticks dangerously close to its past successes which at times felt a bit unoriginal and some of the new stuff it tries, like procedurally generated combat encounters, didn’t pan out terribly well.Similar to its predecessors, the weapons in the game are procedurally generated. In our Tiny Tina's Wonderlands review, we said, "Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a fantastic fantasy take on Borderlands’ tried-and-true looter shooter formula. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands launched on March 25, 2022. Offline play is available too but players will need to connect to the internet at least one time to verify that they own the game. The game also supports crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox, and both Epic and Steam versions as well. However, Season Pass content doesn't transfer over from the Epic Games Store to Steam, so those who already purchased it from the former will have to buy it again. Any Steam Achievements can be unlocked with new characters created in the game on through Steam. Achievements already earned through the Epic Games Store version will not immediately unlock in the Steam one but may still be earned again by completing the requirements again. However, Gearbox recommends making a backup of your save before manually doing so.
